Volunteer Opportunities

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
~Mahatma Gandhi~

Throughout the year there are many opportunities to serve here at the Center, as well as the community at large.

Volunteer Program Purpose & Mission

It takes a village... we believe in unity. It is our intention to not only serve our own spiritual community, but to be a light in our local community, as well as a light in the global community.

Positions Currently Needed

We invite you to consider one of our current volunteer positions within our growing community
where you can be in service to others.  Membership or long term commitment not required.

Read more here.  Thank you.

Membership Information

Dear Members and Friends,

We are so grateful for your continued involvement and support!

Membership is an annual commitment at our Center. We invite you to read the following information and fill out the membership form to aid us in making plans for the next calendar year.

Members (18 years and older) are those who have intentionally and joyfully committed themselves to practicing the Science of Mind© teaching as well as to supporting our Center for Spiritual Living Central Maryland. To become a new member, it is required that you take the Discovery class, which we offer periodically (current members are welcome at any Discovery Class but participation is not required).

As an individual, your membership facilitates your own personal growth and gives you a powerful opportunity to lift yourself to a greater experience of Spirit. Through a loving community you are supported on your individual journey of expansion. It is also a commitment to ongoing support of the Center’s activities and finances.

We are here to support you on your spiritual path — please let us hear from you with any suggestions or questions.  Read more on our membership covenant and access our membership form here.

Love and blessings,

Rev. Alice Reid, Chair/Treasurer
Ariel Phoenix, Secretary
Frank Mattheu, Vice Chair                              Vicki Hess, Core Council Member

Ted Moffit, Core Council Member                 Rev. Michelle Wadleigh, Core Council Member

Our Membership Covenant

As a community dedicated to spiritual evolution both personally and globally, our community members lovingly agree to abide by the following covenant:

· I understand the basic teachings and philosophy of our community.  I place a
high priority on my spiritual growth and spiritual life.

· I am an active, involved member of this spiritual community.  I choose to help
maintain its loving, accepting, and supportive atmosphere.

· I actively support the vision, mission, purpose and goals of CSL Central MD.
I include the community in my Affirmative Prayer practice.  I value being part
  of something larger than myself.

· I include the community in my financial planning; undertake my fair share
through intentional, conscious, and joyful giving; and reap the satisfaction
  found in generosity.

· I serve my spiritual community through my fair share of volunteer service
and experience the value of Seva, selfless service to Spirit.

· I am accountable for my experience.  If I feel upset with the community or a
fellow member, I go within for guidance, then speak directly with the
person(s) involved with the conscious intention of finding a harmonious
  resolution.

· I participate regularly in the community’s activities.  I choose not to feel guilty
when I am unable to attend, for I lovingly support CSL as a guilt-free teaching!

· I continue my spiritual education as I am led from within.

· I teach others through my example, by demonstrating growth and change in
my life and by sharing New Thought principles with others when appropriate.

· I take ownership in my community along with my fellow members,
recognizing that together we keep its doors open, making our wonderful
teaching available to all who desire it.

· I realize that committing to membership is really a commitment to my own
spiritual growth, and that it is good.  And so it is.
